“Don’t speak of it to anyone”, what we mean is that it’s a secret. Oh, but it excites us! What to do? And this curiosity of ours has led us to discover secret societies such as Illuminati. Though we thought most of them to be a western concept, who knew India too would have one such secret?

We all know Ashoka the great, the one who realized the blood on his hands. After the war of Kalinga, he adopted and spread Buddhism across nations. Well, that is why he is known beyond the boundaries of India. But what most of us do not know is that he founded a secret society of the Nine Unknown Men more than 2000 years ago.

For him, knowledge was power and according to him, such power had to be kept safe so that it can be used for the good of society. Because if such enormously powerful knowledge lands in the wrong hands, then excessive evil and danger can take birth. So, he chose the nine most brilliant men from various disciplines to form the secret society.

The society was designed in such a way that if any member quit because of reasons such as disease, death, etc., then a worthy individual must be chosen to replace the person and become a successor so the society continues to have exactly Nine Members at all times.

Now, each member of society was given a particular subject to take care of. These disciplines included Propaganda, Physiology, Microbiology, Alchemy, Communication, Gravity, Cosmology, Light, and Sociology. These subjects look pretty normal, no? But that’s not the case. These include knowledge that is forbidden to be known by everyone.

●      Propaganda- This book discusses propaganda and psychological warfare strategies

●      Physiology- It demonstrates how to murder someone just by touching them, a technique is known as “The Touch of Death”. It is said that Judo is leaked from this book.

●      Microbiology- This book focuses on microbiology and biotechnology

●      Alchemy- This book elaborates on the transmutation of metals into gold

●      Communication- The book includes the method of communicating with terrestrial beings and as well as aliens

●      Gravity- The secrets of gravity are discussed in this book and the directions to construct the Vedic Vimana (in simple terms, an aircraft)

●      Cosmology- The study of the universe beyond the understanding of modern science is discussed in this book

●      Light- This book talks about how to manipulate the speed of light and utilize it as a weapon

●      Sociology- This book is the last volume and discusses society’s progress and methods of predicting its destruction

These nine men were supposed to study the subjects and develop theories on them. And every successor that followed till today is supposed to continue the research on the knowledge passed on to them.

It is suspected that Hitler got intrigued by the subject of psychological warfare so he dispatched several expeditions to India and Tibet to collect information. Hence, it is claimed that probably the Nazis obtained secret information to manipulate Germans.

It is also believed that Issac Newton, Albert Einstein, and APJ Abdul Kalam were members of this secret society called the Nine Unknown Men.

The book called “Nine Unknown Men” published by Talbot Mundy in 1923 is a half myth that talks about Ashoka’s secret society. In 1960, it was said by Jacques Bergier and Louis Pauwels that the Nine Unknown Men were true. They also represented the narrative by Pope Sylvester II in their book named “The Morning of The Magicians”.

According to the first French Pope, Pope Sylvester II visited India to seek the Nine Unknown Men. It is said that he found them and learned compelling abilities from them. He also learned to make a bronze head that can answer Yes or No questions. He had that robot skull, which can be compared to the binary systems. He also had other inventions which he learned from the members of Ashoka’s secret society. Unfortunately, his dreams were destroyed after his demise.

Other novels such as “Finders Keepers” and “Mahabharata Secret” also talk about India’s age-old secret society.

Another interesting event from history says that Alexandre Emile Jean Yersin saved the world from bubonic Cholera and the plague. Now how did he do that is even more interesting? He traveled to Madras, India, and met the descendants of the Nine Unknown Men. He learned from them how to make an immunotoxin that can fight Cholera. And that is how he saved the world.

It is indeed not easy to find them or maybe we don’t need to because they could be sitting beside us. But millions of people will never know their whereabouts because a secret is supposed to remain a secret.
