Kattunayakkan Tribe: Life in Wilderness
Story Summary
It has been proven time and again that tribals play a pivotal role in biodiversity, and ecological balance, and also contribute to the economy of the nation in terms of agriculture, handmade artefacts, and animal husbandry, among others. India is home to more than seven hundred tribal groups, constituting 8.6 per cent of the total population. What makes the tribals distinct from people living in urban areas is how strongly they can lead a simple life without any advanced technology, especially the internet or any modern medicine. Their skills are inherited from generations of hardworking individuals who have not only survived in jungles but have also made a living in them.
