Packard 120

Have you heard of people deciding to have kids just to save their marriage from breaking? Well, if not in real life then perhaps in some or the other daily soap? To my surprise and maybe even yours, this child nearing strategy isn’t just prevalent in humans but in the commercial industry as well. The Packard Motor Car Company produced their Packard One-Twenty in order to save itself from crashing in the market.

It was this vintage automobile that made Packard Motors hold onto its position in the automobile industry back in the 1930s. It was then that Packard One-Twenty was manufactured and introduced in the market as the first mid-priced eight-cylinder car by Packard.

The Packard One-Twenty didn’t just take over the market and prevent its home company from drowning, it also crossed the level of impressing its buyers to a whole different level.

This vehicle acquainted the free front suspension with the Packard line. Its purported "Safe-T-Flex" suspension was an inconsistent upper and lower A-arm type with the biggest lower A-arm made out of two unique arms darted together.

The help arm conveyed all the heap; the force arm conveyed the speeding up and deceleration. Benefits guaranteed for the framework included predominant upkeep of wheel arrangement from the far reach of the lower A-arm, a super durable fixing of the caster point, and an expanded level of the slowing down force communicated to the edge through the force arm.

Besides having such an updated and advanced system to roar and mark its territory wherever it was driven, the Packard One-Twenty also crossed the threshold of being one of the most handsome cars to have been manufactured.

As dashing as it looked with its stylish tyres rolling out in the open, it came with options to choose from for its looks and body design. And boy there were so many options to choose from.

To begin with, the choice was to have the car with two doors or four. The bar went higher when the choices became more remarkable and at the same time, difficult to choose from. There was Business Coupé, Convertible Sedan, Convertible Coupé, police series, Touring Sedan, Convertible Victoria and then the normal sedan.

I’m sure it would have taken me weeks to choose from all these attractive features and get myself a Packard One-Twenty.

This old bomb was actually the shield for Packard during the final years of the Great Depression. It was affordable even at that time as well as one of the highest competitive cars that were ready to rock and roll on the streets.
