The Southern part of India is home to a lot of knowledge. From IT to arts and culture, the southern part of India is very well known for its literacy. One such man is M. O. Hasan Farook Maricar, a politician with many high positions in the south. His influence was vast, and his ideals were accepted by the public.

His starting steps in politics was when he participated in the liberation of Pondicherry during the 1950s. At that time, Pondicherry was a French colony. He then became the Chief Minister at a very young age of 27. He was the youngest chief minister of any Union Territory of India. While his life might not be exciting to read about, it was a life of influence, as he was elected thrice to the Lok Sabha from Pondicherry.

He also was the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism and for this experience he gained, he was later sent as an ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia.

Even as he grew older, his power only kept growing as he was elected as the governor of Jharkhand and then Kerala. Already three-time Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Pondicherry, Farook was looking forward to his peaceful life, but a sudden illness would destroy his utopia. Such is the fickleness of life, one moment you look away from the mirror, and it breaks the reflection.

Multiple myeloma(cancer) and kidney problems would pain him, and he would die in office on 26 January 2012. He is the shortest-served governor of Kerala and was bedded for more than a month until he rested in pain. At the age of 74, he had achieved power in his hands and although it was void of controversies, he was truly influential in many of the South's policies.
