Kamaal Rashid Khan has been a constant topic of internet humour in India. Whether they are memes on his movie reviews, or his hilariously atrocious tweets, KRK has managed to come up with content to entertain the masses ever since he surfaced in 2008 into mainstream media. Known for his crass catchphrase “2 Rupees People”, KRK is a collective archetype of ironical cringe comedy in India.

KRK’s exact year of birth too, is a matter of controversy! Though his official website states his birth date as of January 1, 1975, he is known for changing his age when asked during interviews. Khan belongs to Uttar Pradesh where he started his so-called ‘acting’ career with a Bhojpuri movie in 2006, as the main villain of the film. Since then, he has constantly been in the news for offensive, unnecessary comments and extravagant lies regarding the way he leads his personal life.

Although he refers to himself as an actor, director and producer, the first film that he scripted and produced – Deshdrohi (2008) – was banned across the state of Maharashtra, for content that could potentially induce riots. The next year in 2009, he appeared as a contestant on India’s famous reality TV show Big Boss.

KRK managed to get himself kicked out of a show which literally profits off on-screen celebrity scandals.

Here, he was removed for absurd violent behaviour towards fellow contestants. Furthermore, KRK also has a fair share of police complaints lodged against him – for casteist comments against famed Tamil actor Dhanush, obscene remarks against the LGBTQ community and for derogatory comments against other Bollywood actors. Although many of his offensive tweets against the women of Bollywood have not been taken too seriously by the actresses, his constant notoriety towards most stars has made him a deplorable figure in the industry.

Nowadays, KRK apparently owns a garment business, while exporting labour to the Gulf. His bungalow in Dubai is named ‘Jannat’ as a rip-off of Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow named ‘Mannat’ in Mumbai.

He claims to be living in a house which stretches over 21,000 sq. feet, bathing in French water, drinking milk from Holland and tea which arrives for him exclusively from London.
